Mrs. lacy
Mrs. Lacy has had many different teaching
experiences before becoming a media specialist at Lakeview: elementary
classroom teacher, traveling librarian at three rural schools, teaching 7th
grade Reading at Lakeview, working as a Literacy Specialist, and even owning
and operating a store that sold toys, books, and educational teacher supplies!
Son Kendall is the assistant Master Builder at the Kansas City Lego Discovery
Center, and majoring in product design in college. Son Kaleb is a junior at
Park Hill, and keeps really busy with over 14 clubs and extra-curricular
activities. Mrs. Lacy has a rescue dog, a Shorkie
named Bentley. She loves the lake and the beach, and can drive anything from a wave
runner to a small yacht on the water! Her favorite movie is “You’ve Got Mail.”
(It’s about a small bookstore owner and her love of books!) She loves to talk
with students, especially about books they’ve read! Ask her for advice on
something good to read, why she named her dog Bentley, how she chooses books for Lakeview, or what she does for
fun outside of school!

Mrs. Robaska
Mrs. Robaska, the library assistant, is a former teacher who taught 4th, 6th, but mostly 7th grade prior to working at Lakeview. She loves being back in the middle school working with the 7th and 8th graders, and she has really enjoyed catching up on Young Adult Literature! There are so many great books she wants to read but not nearly enough time to do it! (You guys need to help her out and give her book recommendations too!) So far this school year, she has read 25 books! Ms. Zimmerman likes to tease her that she reads a book a day, but that is obviously not true – do the math! The next book on her list is Jane Eyre because Ms. Zimmerman insists that she must read it! Some of her favorite books from when she was in middle school include The Cay, Island of the Blue Dolphins, and From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. A couple of her favorite bestsellers include The Fault in our Stars, The Da Vinci Code, The Help, and Sarah’s Key. As far as hobbies go, Mrs. Robaska loves to read (of course), knit, cook, travel, and attend her kids’ activities. Allison, her daughter, is a freshman at Park Hill South, and Andrew, her son, is in 6th grade at Plaza. As far as pets go, Mrs. Robaska has a very handsome cat named Boots who is 22 lbs.!

Ms. zimmerman
Ms. "JZ" Zimmerman is a newbie at Lakeview. She graduated from the University of Iowa's School of Library and Information Science. It was there that she discovered (by a required course) that she loves technology (and also that she loves falafel). At Lakeview, she gets to combine her techiness and bookishness as a Technology Specialist. She also works at the Mid-Continent Public Library. She is known for encouraging staff to have difficult passwords, spilling her coffee, and recommending everyone read Jane Eyre. Although from Iowa, she does not like bacon or corn (with the exception of Ms. Robaska's corn casserole). Julie can be found watching 30 Rock, baking scones, listening to hip-hop, and talking about Iowa (no, it is not just cornfields, Ms. Robaska).
